Hi I replaced the batteries on a trawler type motoryacht using 32V a few months back. Four 8V batteries in series. We had to special order them. I tried recommending converting to 24V. Owen If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space. [ Parent ]

36V is not that common but definitely used.  Trace built some SW inverters for 36V, I know that African Windpower built 36V machines, and I expect the C40 charge controller works fine for 36V.  Not common  -  but definitely in use. [ Parent ]

If I were using 36 volts I would be using golf cart batteries. Most electric golf carts run a series of 6 volt batteries to get the 36 volts. Perhaps they are using it this way somehow. Hmmm... intersting food for thought because I am about to buy a golf cart to use as a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle. I plan to recharge the batteries using wind and or solar. [ Parent ]
