It doesn't matter what the voltage is. amp/hours is amp/hours.

Mind you, though that 100A/H at 12V won't run as long as 100A/H at 48V given the same wattage of load.

a 10 watt light on the 12V system uses .83A for slightly less than 100 hours in a perfect world with a 100A/H battery.

The same 10 watt light on a 48V system uses .21A for slightly less than 400 hours in a perfect world with a 100A/H battery.

Veewee: Wrong.

If you have a string of four 12V batteries in a row, each rated at 100 AH, then your 48V system has 100 AH capacity.

If you take the same batteries, hook them all up in parallel to each other, then you have a 12V battery bank, with 400 AH capacity.

Please read the question more carefully before answering.
