Interesting reading.

Having just retired as a marine electrician, I could only get hold of deep cycle batteries, which as it happens is good... I have a 95AH I use as a test battery on various projects, and on my car a 110AH ( well it is a 2.5ltr diesel) I can still buy these 110AH batteries at cost price so guess what I will be using.

As where I live in the UK I am very sheltered for wind, I will probably go for PV at least it gets light every day and I have a south facing roof.

We have been told in the UK to expect our utility prices to go up by up to 60% in the next 2 years.  So what was just an interest now has real value.
