Hi,
Take a look at this posting by me:
[ http://www.fieldlines.com/story/2004/4/18/125735/914 ]
We design and manufacture custom solar panels with high quality components. Something you will not be able to get from Siemens, Kyocera, BP, etc.
Regarding Space Savings....I am going to assume you know a little bit about space savings in terms of how it converts into power output per panel.
Here is the scenario I am going to setup to explain this. We are working with Siemens SR-100 100 Watt Solar Panels with dimensions of approximately ~5' Feet Length x ~2 Feet Width x ~2 Inches Thick.
Here is the scenario.
If you were to buy 3 SR-100 Residential Solar Panels from Siemens you would be taking up approximately 15' Foot space on your roof. Here is the depiction below:
SIEMENS TECHNOLOGY
(~5' Feet Length Each For Each Solar Panel)
5' 5' 5' <> 15' (5'x3) Length On Roof
<--------------> <--------------> <-------------->
[SIEMENS SR-100] [SIEMENS SR-100] [SIEMENS SR-100] <> approximate 15 Feet Length
Total Siemens Solar Panels = 3
Total Power Output Per Siemens SR-100 Solar Panel = 100 Watts
Total Power Output here is = 300 Watts
Space Covered On Your Roof = ~15' Foot
OUR TECHNOLOGY
(~ Same 5' Feet Length Each For Each Solar Panel)
5' 5' 5' <> 15' Length On Your Roof
<--------------> <--------------> <-------------->
[OUR XLINX 5000] [OUR XLINX 5000] [OUR XLINX 5000] <> approximate 15 Feet Length
It you will notice above both our panel and the Siemens are pretty much taking up the same amount of roof space per 3 physical Solar Panels.
Total Xlinx 5000 Solar Panels = 3
Total Power Output Per Xlinx 5000 Solar Panel = ~300 Watts
Total Power Output here is = ~900 Watts
Space Covered On Your Roof = ~15' Foot
The conclusion here is that our XLINX 5000 Commercial Panels will pack a heavier power punch over the Siemens SR-100 when hooked up in the same space on your roof.
Apart from that with the Siemens you would only be able to see 300 Watts of power. Our XLINX 5000 Panels are not only superior in terms of technology but with respect to space savings on your roof you would be able to save incredible assets needed on your roof to add more power panels in the future. What do I mean by this?
Now lets look at this from this perspective; we know from the sketch above that 300 Watts of 3 Siemens SR-100 (100 Watts Each) Solar Panels will take up 15' Feet of space on your roof.
We also know that 900 Watts of 3 Xlinx 5000 (300 Watts Each) Solar Panels will also take up 15' Feet of space on your roof.
Now here is where Siemens can't compare. To give you roughly 900 Watts of Power Siemens would with their SR-100 have to pack 9 of those panels on your roof. Nine (9) Siemens SR-100 will approximately take up (9 Siemens SR-100 Panels x 5' Foot Length per Panel = 45') Forty-Five (45') Foot space on your roof. What a waste of roof assets.
5' 5' 5' 5' 5' 5' 5' 5' 5' <> 45' Roof Space
<-----><-----><-----><-----><-----><-----><-----><-----
><-----> <> 45' Roof Space
SR-100 SR-100 SR-100 SR-100 SR-100 SR-100 SR-100 SR-100 SR-100
Total Siemens Solar Panels = 9
Total Watt Per Solar Panel = 100 Watts
Total Power Output here is = 900 Watts
Space Covered On Your Roof = ~45' Foot
Now here is our panel's stronghold...in our Xlinx 5000 design assuming we are packing panels in that same forty-five (45') Foot space on your roof...we would be able to give you (300 Watts x 9 Panels = 2700 Watts) Two Thousand Seven Hundred Watts approximately and thus making excellent inroads on your roof assets in terms of maximizing your roof assets.
5' 5' 5' 5' 5' 5' 5' 5' 5' <> 45' Roof Space
<-----><-----><-----><-----><-----><-----><-----><-----
><-----> <> 45' Roof Space
XLINX5 XLINX5 XLINX5 XLINX5 XLINX5 XLINX5 XLINX5 XLINX5 XLINX5
Total Xlinx 5000 Solar Panels = 9
Total Watt Per Solar Panel = ~300 Watts
Total Power Output here is = ~2700 Watts
Space Covered On Your Roof = ~45' Foot
This is a whooping Watt difference of 1800 Watts more for the same 45' space on your roof than the Siemens and others would be giving you. With this technology you will (depending on the size of your house/home) never run out of space and still be able to trap and output maximum power to your storage bank (your batteries).
I hope you can disect this explanation and see where I am coming from (my point) and why our technology is superior than the technology you know of from your regular Solar Supplier (Siemens, BP Solarex, Kyocera, etc).
Anywayz just contact me if you are interested and I'll send you pictures of what I have running for my system (it is way and beyond what you will need) and I'll try my best to help you size and find the parts for your system.
