"Anyway, I tried my best. No hard feelings just a feeling of personal loss having failed in trying to herd this beast into a focused and useful resource. Partly mid winter blues partly burnout so carry on and all the best wishes and continue to have fun."

Awe, don't take it hard, you done a great job, heck even the Pres gets over ruled at times. And look at the "Don't Ask, Don't tell" and "Can you define the word sex" scandels of the past :)
It just comes with the position at times I geuss (though he really was asking for it)!

You have done well as a herd master of the beast, and for the winter Blues Burnout, well there are more self imposed deaths this time of year than any other, many more bridge jumpings etc.. so cheer up, we love ya, it will pass.

(Psst.., watch him close guys if he says he wants to climb a tower for airgap adjustments, ok) wink wink.

He did say he would move it later I geuss, and this could be a good thing to hang around. In a diary it might get lost quick. I was interested in becomming a ham many years ago myself, but never did, if enough guys are into such things I may take up acting again. Oh, uh, wrong ham eh :)

Seriously I never got into the radios like I wanted to years ago, if many of the folks are into ham it may revive my interest later also. Though not RE perhaps, I can see how it would at least fit into rural living and such pretty easy. As was stated, phone patch, remote rural areas without land line service. Or emergency use etc...

What ever happened to packet relay for computers or modems? That was my original interest in ham, back around 1988 or so. Had a friend doing something with that, could transfer computer files with Ham cross country, took forever as I recall but worked. Back before internet!

For off grid remote rural living, way way way off, such things may still be very usefull.

nothing to lose

Spelin and tpying are my strong points, not electronics.

AND look at the big storms on the gulf
earlier this year.
For some HAM was the only way to let other's know they were alive. And the only way to get any help.
later
