    I think Monte explained it better than I could.  Remember there are 6 magnets on the disc.  Each magnet or pole would be over the top of each leg.  The way you have it diagramed you have a pole over each slot in which case there would be some canceling.  I'm using the small 1" x .5" x 1/8" magnets with the kit which really doesn't take advantage of the potential.  If you filled the disc with 6 triangular magnets you could increase its output by over 2 times.  
    Also, I put one together as a dual rotor and its quite impressive for the small wire it uses although the blades really need to be larger for low winds when this is done.
