I hope that is some sort of "close comaradity" inside humor between you two, otherwise, the hostility is uncalled for.

Now my two cents.

Tom is right, hot wire foam carvers have been around long already.  Heck, the google ads on the side prove that fact.  Again, if your just joking around, you can stop reading here, since the rest doesn't apply, have a nice day.  But if you're serious, relax.  Just because you got corrected, and it offends you, there is no point in getting rude.  There's been entirely too much of that on here in the recent past.  (in fact, this has become the rudest board I visit now-a-days)  I suggest you read the text above the comment box during your next post.

Maybe you mean something like this:
http://www.fieldlines.com/story/2006/4/7/13354/21751
(sorry I don't know how to put a link)

As you see my mold is wood.Quite much work.
Maybe clay is faster, but for a reasonable size it
will be difficult.Clay retracts when it dries.Cracking
and breaking and so.
I've been thinking of ciment.
First build the rough shape from stone or brick. Then finish
with cement and/or plaster.
But what the heck did you make your styroffoamcutter for.

don't underestimate the work of fiberglassing without bubbles.
Not very cheap neither.
Not yet a good method for mass production.

cheers,

fred;

No, I would of deleted [hid actually] it because I thought it was not particularly interesting or even new. The fact that I do not particularly like you and think your logic is horribly flawed has no bearing on that. That job has passed to others now so out of my hands what goes and what stays. I will be posting more now that the "official" part of my tenure here has passed.

I call them as I see them. I don't hold grudges, either.

By the way, how is that low wind start up prop you came up with working these days?

There now its in the open. Only commented because you asked "why".

Cheers.

Gee tom, I was using humor, note the lol, lmao. But you didn't notice it. I gave you too much credit. Perhaps this will work better; I stated in previous posts that an editor must be without bias, thank you for confirming what I already knew, you are bitter, do hold a grudge and pass judgment upon others you do not even know. You need to take some time off from this job and get a life, stay off the board for awhile, see a shrink, take a happy pill.  I don't really care if you like me or not, sending two negative statements in the same post? Do everyone a favor, if you have nothing positive to contribute then don't post. I don't want to hear your somber mood, your just as bad as RogerAS. Keep it to yourself. Pathetic.

Those cutters are fun!   I built one a few years back and put it on rollers.  I could copy just about any airfoil shape with it.  I used guitar string for mine.  The trick is getting it and keeping it at the right temp.   Then holding a steady hand... it picks up vibration or a nervous twitch quickly.   You could make up 1 blade to copy and cast it in a 2 part rubber mold.   Doesn't stick to plastics and what you mold is what you get.  Its fun to work with.  I've been using the "oomoo" its a 1 to 1 mix and hardens in 6 hours.   You can make hundreds of parts per mold.  smoothon.com has the stuff.
