Maybe I should say where I obtained my magnets for free... Just in case someone else is interested. A friend of mine works at an outdoor/recreation store. They sell these flashlights that you can charge by shaking. Since a lot of these end up broken, dropped or just bad, the employees have been ripping out the magnets and playing with them. She managed to save these from various refrigerators, and gave them to me. If you have a local outdoor shop, see if they sell these flashlights, and if they do, ask if you can have/buy their broken ones.... may as well try.

if you can get the coils too  the wire  might be usefull. in this case i think the first layout drawing would be optimal. if you have a hub set up just lay the mags out and do a test coil put some cardboard over the mags and give it a spin. [ Parent ]

I think you guys are greatly overestimating the wire in them. The stuff is micro-wire. Maybe 40 gauge? Maybe smaller. G- [ Parent ]
