I plan to saw a couple of small logs to lumber if the rain permits. Sure, the mill uses gas and oil, but the logs are from a pine the wind blew down in my dad's yard last fall. I sawed the butt log up yesterday. I got 133 board feet of lumber from it. The log was 14 inches in diameter and 14 feet long. The other two logs are from the top of the tree (the tree grew split after the butt log). They should give some nice 2 by 4's. Is this a "green" activity? You figure it out.
