cfl's like everyone else. We started recycling all our trash. I always wanted to but couldn't get the wife on board with it until the garbage bill went up to the point we were about to quit them, & then they sent a notice that we had to sign up for easy pay which lets them have all my credit card info. etc., or else we were going to be charged an additional $3 for the privelege of them sending me a bill. I politely asked them to stick it. Aggravating but at least it gave me & especially the wife the incentive to start recycling.
I'm in the process of building a wind generator & I'm planning to put a black garden hose on the inlet of my hot water heater this summer to slightly preheat the water going into the hot water heater. I figure as long as the air temp. is higher than the ground temp. then I should be gaining. It should help with all those short spurts of hot water like hand washing etc. Water in a black hose gets pretty hot in the summer time & it won't cost me much. I'm planning to set the mower up high & just mow over the top of it.
Rover, stop it.
