Did the same thing with the first generator I put together with nearly the same results. I just got the bejesus scared out of me. Maybe it should be part of the windmill safety handbook. Never use a ladder as a temporary mount for your windmill unless it is a very short ladder & there are too many cats in your neighborhood or something.
