Sorry I made a mistake copying the reference. It should have been http://www.energy.ca.gov/2005publications/CEC-500-2005-084/CEC-500-2005-084.PDF

Thanks Ron for the references to VAWT patents. As you will see by the reference I make this patent was not applied for until 2005. It has nothering to do with those old patents.

Ray,

I took the numbers from the list on the article. If I am to look somewhere else, I need to know.

I now know it is a 2005 patent. Do you know who filed the patent? If it is old enough to be in public records, A print can be found.

If you will be kind enough to furnish applicant or assignee and what it is about, I'll look again. I regret I lost the ability to be clairvoyant.

Thanks Ron you have found the patent. It was filed by Hamnid Rahai. Thanks a million
I will be studying it to see if I can replicate the design. Hamid claims this design has about the same lift characteristics as found in HAWT. If this is true it will be a major breakthough in design of the HAWT. Near the end of the artical in the summary he makes the claims. He has tested the design in a wind tunnel proving it to be 40% more efficient than the Benesh airfoil.

Ray,

I may have found the application:

http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PG01&p=1&u=%2Fn etahtml%2FPTO%2Fsrchnum.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=%2220070104582%22.PGNR.&OS=DN/20070 104582&RS=DN/20070104582

-----------
There is a link to Images - My machine doesn't play whatever wild graphics program the USPO has chosen. If yours does it should be able to open the graphics.

If you really care to build one, the tables should be able to be unraveled and you could plot the blades.

Good luck,

Ron

Tahnks agian Ron. My computer does not show the images either. I have a grandson who is a computer whiz. I will get him to help me with it on the weekend.

I was able to download the images from that patent application and they are the same as in the pdf, only in black and white.
