If you could cut me 20 inch disks out of 1/2 iron that I mentioned in another comment I might want to talk to you later.  Of course, they can't have much warping, and I want to see what the Dans come up with.  I'm located north of you near Houghton in the U. P.  This posting is going into my Hotlist.

Hi GeoM,

I can cut plate up to 72" in Diameter with no distortion. Mill tollerance vary from one mill to another so be sure you have a flat plate to start with.

In other words, I have to provide the plate.  You have no way to do any milling, then?  Thanks for the response.  As I said, I've marked this post.

Yes, you would have to either provide the plate, or I can provide it for cost. I can't provide the materials for free cause well, I think thats easy to figure out...

I can only swing 18" on my lathe, but a friend of mine has a small machine shop less than 2 miles from me and we trade favors back and forth all the time. If you want, e-mail me at don@idealfabrications.com and I'll send you a phone number you can reach me at.

 Take Care,

Finn,
Maybe you could use sanitary sewer covers from the streets of Houghton.Kiddin but would be cool to see your build at least getting a start.

I'll call the mayor and warn him. :v)
