JB-Weld, or any other product will not stick to anything that is not perfectly clean.

I guess the kevlar is replacement for the iron in JB. . . I would think, though, that JB between a magnet and it's backing metal would be very little affected by that thin layer of JB between them. . .Might even serve to make the magnetic connection stronger. . .

At any rate, I will try that stuff next time I am fixing something that I would have used JB for. . .
