Hi Jerry, It looks like it is working out pretty well.  The 220 amp hours that they are rated at is generally at the 20 hour rate.  Discharging it in an hour would result in quite a bit less power being taken out and a lot of heat radiating from the battery bank.  I'm not sure exactly how much less though.  Sometimes on cheap marine batteries you also see a 'reserve capacity' which is generally how many minutes it takes to fully discharge the battery at 25 Amps.  Of course you would never actually want to fully discharge the battery.  I would probably hedge on caution and limit myself to 50% discharge for planned trips based upon your method of range calculation if possible, and if you run across a very small generator it might be worth keeping one in the back rigged to charge the batteries in the event you push the range a bit too far.  On my Commuta Van, when the batteries are going flat, the top end speed starts dropping.  I've limped it back here at about 5MPH a couple of times, and I am sure that running the batteries flat like that injured them a bit.  Rich
