The 65 turn coils on the 12 pole machine is using the 1/4" wedge magnets. These have an area of 2.35 sq inches each, yours have an area of only .7854 sq inches so your turn count will need to much higher. If all the variables were the same then the math for going from 65 down to 49 on the 16 pole / 12 coil alternator would be close.

You would need in the range of 115 turns per coil to match the cut in speed voltage using your magnets. This would also change the wire size due to added resistance in the coils, kind of a domino effect overall.

In my files there is a file called "Number of turns2" which is an excel spreadsheet that will help you determine the coil turns for a given set of variables. I'm not sure how to set it up as a clickable link ...
