That's EXACTLY what it is! (counter-top lamination material). Except, for this application we'll be used raw-untreated wood. I'm stil exploring options/configurations for my radial genny. I've pretty much decided on 1inch dia. mags x 3/8 thick. I was surprised when I used a gauss calculator on one of the magnet sites & for a 0.09" gap, the 1inch x 3/8 thick ones had a slightly higher figure than the 1x2x1/2 ones! Of course, you get a better working area with the rectangular ones by having a longer "leg" on the working side of the field.
Still not sure exactly how many mags/coils I should go with.
