thanks for the input  guys.

This  is a coworker  who had intended to use them for his "smart garage" for his smart car.  He had then discovered HF's all in one solar powered barn light system which is easier than doing a whole setup.

i always tease him because he is really liberal and here i am, another evil republican who, unlike him, recycles and and plays with my wind generators and solar panels.  :P

Anyhow, because this panel will be slipped into an existing system, it will be put to good use right away instead of sitting in his garage.  We both agreed that was a good idea.

He believes in Global Warmi... err i mean Climate Change, so i was sure to write "Carbon Credit" on the memo line of the check.   :)  All in good fun.

:-D   Yeah, my wife said we are what is called "Crunchy" Conservatives.   lol.

This guy and I have fun.  He and I will be voting for different people this election, and we disagree on whether or not we can control the weather.  But neither one of us thinks the other is an idiot and there's no animosity there.  Good people are good people, even if they disagree.

As for my conservative idea of rugged individualism and self-reliance, I've said before that people like you are great examples of what can be done.  When Damon's grid power goes out, he probably doesn't feel like a helpless jackass the way most of us do.    :-)

I'm almost there myself.

Thankfully for my self-esteem, grid power in suburban London is very very reliable!  Thus I will probably not have to find out how like a jackass I might feel, though I'm pretty sure that I'll at least have some lighting in two rooms of the house!  B^>

(Of course, Murphy's Law suggests that we'll only have a grid outage at the very moment my off-grid system is down for repairs or whatever...)

Yep, for me right now, it's a night-light and then whatever else I want to drain my batteries with (radio, etc.)  But that night-light is on 24x7, grid power or not.
