It is common (and suggested) to have strain relief on long 'drops'. There are 'Chinese- fingertrap' like devices that grab the power cable which is then held by a steel (or Kevlar/Spectra if you are government funded or rich) cable removing strain from the copper.

Here is what I use to support my drop cable it is straight inline pull down the tower:
