hi chuck,
at last some else interested in this technology. i am pretty far along with my efforts. i have the graphite felt and the membrane. still need to sort out some vananium pentoxide. cant buy it in the UK as all the chemical companies wont sell to individuals. worried abiut litigation if you injure yourself or anyone else. my project is on hold till the winter as i need to insulate and fix all the leaks in my bus first. feel free to email me off list if you like and i will send you all the info i have gathered. as you point out the cost of the nafion is the sticking point. there are cheaper alternatives around but the energy density is a lot lower,so may not work out any cheaper in the long run. i have made contact with a couple of Phd students working on these. they will let me know when they hae some news.

cheers
bob golding
