A bit more to it than I expected, I had to google 'silicone steel', I now understand its importance within the design.

An 'exploded  or sectional view' may also help others understand the concept, not sure how that could be done easily though..

Also of interest,
I found a company in the states that makes mini alternators for unmanned vehicle subsystems, incl coreless designs, I suspect they are hugely expensive, but worth a look imho.

i was puzzled by the layout as well
i must admit i peeked in your files
and discovered this latest image before you posted it .
there is a bit more to this one than the 6 mag single coil unit.
(which in itself was dam clever)
but this one is wicked smart!!

just curious, is the inner pole piece an off cut of the outer pole piece?

i also want to compliment you on the design of the end caps of your mill .
and the way you can secure both ends with that single threaded rod.
that is nice design at work !
