This is interesting,
I have never thought that I could run 3 phase equipment from a VFD using a 24 VDC RE system. Are most VFD's capable of doing this? Bryan, would you mind giving more details? :) Make, model, hookups...etc. :)

Hi Phil,
I run my shed arrays off a 3kw pure sinewave inverter with a 9kw surge. The brand of VFD I use is a Delta and the biggest motor you can run from single to 3 phase is 2.2kw or 3 hp. On my bridgeport mill which is already setup and running I put a new face mount 2hp 3 phase motor on with a single taperlock V-pulley. Now in the high range I can go from around 150-2,000 rpm and in the low range from less than 1 rpm to around 200 rpm. I've left the hertz set to 60Hz as the max but with the model I have I can go to 120 hz and I found no drama's going as low as 12 hz in the lower range. Now at my work we sell 3 different brands 1. Delta 2. Blador 3. Genensis.

There are a heap of other brands out there but becarefull of real cheap ones as there is a reason they are cheap they wont last very long at all.

Cheers Bryan
