I want to wish you the best. In my line of work or the lack of, I've had to go without being able to pay my electric bill. I can remember a winter not to distant where I was laying on the shop floor curled up in a sleeping bag snuggling close to my wood burning stove. I was very aware of the privledges I was doing without. I had been using a small inverter off of my van for some little stuff mostly for camping and I had a thought. The van is charging the battery by spinning an alternator, how can I spin one with something I can come across for free? That started my quest and is still driving as hard as ever.
I am working more often now and my home and land are now paid for so my cost of living is cheap. I have been able to experiment more in the last coupple of years. I've got a little wind mill spinning a car alternator. I want to find a way to use these because they are so easy to find cheap. I'm collecting old hard drive magnets and I'm going to find a way to make a rotor and stator combo that will charge a few deep cycles. My machine will free spin but put a load on it and it stops. I'm using PVC blades I made out of 4" pipe. I tried adding three more blades for a six blader but I lost allll my RPM's. I think I need to make some outta 6" pipe to bring up my torque specs. I've also made a bicycle charger out of an alternator. And that dude is tough to peddle for long and If my batts are low, I cant get over the hump to make it start charging.
I'm sorry to have rambled on. God bless you and I will say a little praer for your cause. I promise it will come back to you ten fold.
You can check my profile photos to see some of these toys I speak of.
