3 phase AC wiring
« on: October 12, 2015, 06:48:52 PM »
Hi All

I will be putting up my SkyMAX Wind 750 Watt 24 Volt Wind Turbine in a few weeks.  The turbine is 3 phase output so can I use standard romex house wire from the turbine to the rectifier about 100 ft away?  If so what size would you recommend.

Thanks in advance.

Romex isn't rated for outdoor use or for burial. Wire rated UF-B is. Size your wire from this chart (pdf).

dnix71 - Thanks for the info. that's just what I needed.  I wasn't sure if low voltage ac was different than standard 110/220.

About 10 ft from the tower is  an old 110 ac outlet that  has been disconnected for years. It was for a swimming pool and is run in conduit back to the electrical panel.  My plan is to run the wire from the tower in a short pc of conduit to a junction box were the 110 plug use to be then at the other end hook it to the charge controller.

Thanks again !
