Custom PM Alternators
« on: June 14, 2016, 02:35:16 AM »
I have started building motor conversion PM alternators. Professionally stripped, rewound, baked stators with machined rotors to fit neo magnets and new bearings. These are not modified car alternators but custom built from induction motors to the customer's specifications. The photo shows a completed 3 phase alternator wired for 48 volt DC @ 120 rpm when rectified. This unit weighs 115 lbs. and is conservatively rated for 2-3 KW. If interested please send me a PM for more details, Thank you.

Dave;
NOT to take away from your posting, of those very nice PMs, but I have a question about the evacuated tubes on your website being used for DWH.
Was there a specific reason why you did not go with a backing on them? Aesthetics? OR???

Thanks;
Bruce S

Bruce,

  So much blowing snow and because the tubes always remain cold to the touch it would require more brooming off as it drifts and fills in behind. Thought about it, right now I have 2/3 of these covered otherwise I'd be dumping heat, way too much for DHW 6 mo. of the year. I burn wood 2-3 months less for heat, Fall and Spring this does the job.  Dave
