Autocad Drawings?
« on: December 05, 2016, 05:35:09 PM »
Hey Everyone.

I am new to this. I am attempting to build the 10 foot Axial Flux Machine.
Does anyone know how I can draw the 12" Magnet Rotors to be CNC'd in AutoCAD?

Thanks for the help.

You mind find it easier to use SolidWorks, especially for draft of the blades. Also AutoCAD is compatible with SW.

Using SW to draw magnet rotors/magnets and stator would take all of about 20 minutes. you could make the drawings open source.

Are you new to wind-power, or new to AutoCAD?
(I have about 15,000 hours CAD experience, mostly in AutoCAD, so don't be afraid to ask)

A file in DXF format that is exported from AutoCAD is all you need for machining parts.
The shop must import the DXF into their CAM software.
Draw the original drawing with the center of the rotor at the 0,0 origin.
If you intend to have machined pockets for each magnet, then ARRAY the pocket shape around the origin.
No one believes the theory except the one who developed it. Everyone believes the experiment except the one who ran it.
