Silly Fun

Amaze your Friends!

Annoy your Spouse!

For the Low Low price of Only $99.95,

You too can be the envy of the Rock and Roll World!

Want to be a Star without all the time wasted learning to play those pesky instruments?

Does sheet music look like a bunch dots and flags on rows of stripes?

Do you have trouble remembering the lyrics?

Then this is for You!

But Wait!  There is More!

Order right now and receive TWO, not one but Two, identical sets of instructions for the price of One!

(pay only a small additional handling fee)

Instructions will show how to easily connect a handful of diodes to rectify a stepper motors output to DC, connect a filtering capacitor to the output, and connect the output to a musical greeting card's battery terminals.

A 3V regulator would help.

When ordering, ask the operator about special pricing for the optional regulator instruction package.

This is the Genuine Original.  Do not settle for imitations!

Order in the next 10 minutes, and receive this Video Absolutely FREE!

http://s701.photobucket.com/albums/ww20/ghurd1/Stray%20Pics/?action=view&current=PICT0410.flv

So don't delay.  Order Right Now!

Operators are standing by to take your money for yet another useless item.

Glen,

I just knew I was working you too hard, heh heh heh

You really need to back up the rock n' roll bus and find a "new" hobby, you seem to have gone over the edge on this one...

But then, what do I know, this gnu business venture of yours may just be the next "rubics cube" or "pet rock" ?

Best of luck in your new endevor,

behoof

This category killer product can ALSO be for the non-musically inclined if they use a "self recorded message card' along with their PC to dub downloaded sound effects or songs...

I bet a mini-turbine that plays endless Coyote pack howls would be useful in a garden...

Or twinkling bell sounds & the burble of a running brook for the patio...

Or perhaps use this miracle invention to ease you family pets' work load by dubbing in their barking/meowing to broadcast their presence while they are busy elsewhere!

~~~ ghurd that's nice work & thanks for sharing ~~~
Ghurd, what appliances are tiny stepper motors found in? Perhaps old scanners/copiers that are being thrown away? If yes, can they be turned into a tiny wind-gen that charges 1-1/2V AA and AAA batteries?
Nice G-!
Could you please post the price for the pdf of the "Weather-proof Geared Version 2.3" that goes under the welcome mat?  My door bell's transformer burned out and this would seem to be the perfect RE replacement.
Also, why did you remove the pdf of the "Gerbil Wheel Powered" version?  Too many gerbils being harmed?
With just a little modification you could sell that as a 1 kw VAWT on eBay.
Yes, scanners, printers, copiers, fax, and most have 2 or 3.
I never let one get away un-gutted.
Most make plenty of voltage for 2 or 4 series AA / AAA.
Charge current is about good for them too.
The RPM in the video, it is making about 3VDC after rectification and some pretty decent current.  Hard to spin it fast enough to keep playing, but slow enough over voltage doesn't shut it down.  The music circuit is finicky.
Most of the common ink jet printer steppers will make 6V easy, maybe 50~100ma.
They tend to fall on there face in the amp output a little before 12V.
They do not require a lot of RPM for 3 or 6V charging.  They hit a RPM where they self limit the current, regardless of increasing RPM, which is good with AAs.
They cog some.  PVC blades are well suited to most because they have some needed torque and steppers don't need high speeds.
I helped (via email) a guy on the east coast (right on the ocean, 24/7 wind) of Canada make a few dandy regulated AA charger windmills.  He even put LEDs and a light sensor in one for an automatic yard light.
Probably still have the sketches somewhere.
Can't find the photos. They were beautiful.
It works.  Try it.  Big fun.
The only modification required would be in the marketing materials and in the drop-box payee name and account for allowing multiple concurrent scams...  (Resistance is useless...)
One of the (few!) benefits of VAWTs is good low-RPM torque, and also since high winds "go around" a VAWT, their RPM is self-limiting, so they inherently have a more stable RPM (but of course, LOW rpm).
VAWT's are easy to make, and tiny VAWT's are even easier. Making a 1-1/2V, 3V, 6V battery charger might actually be a VERY useful project ! Yard-Art that charges batteries?
Concerning uses for these recordable card chips, I recently saw a movie where the doorbell actuated the sound of a dog barking (I hear they are popular in NYC for single women). Of course it would need an amplifier, but clearly a fun application...
About 750W for flooded batteries.
It is set up with a lower voltage for SLAs, so about 685W.
