48 volt CFL's (Compact Fluorescent Lights)

<< < (2/2)

I know I could have them made.  But I would not want to!

The problem is volume.  With low production, the cost is high.  High cost is lower sales volume.

It would take a long time to sell only a few thousand pieces.
Like the 36V or 60V people,

Some people would want 7W, other people would want 11W, 13W or 23W.

Some would want a looped tube, some would want a twisted tube.

Some want North American bases, others want European bases.

Some want this Kelvin, some want that Kelvin...
It would tie up a lot of money in a bulb style or 2 that would have a very limited market.
I am not certain many 48V users are wired for using 48VDC loads.  I figure most 48V users are wired for an inverter to feed the loads.

nothing to lose:
GE is making a 60Vdc CFL :)

Check out the CFL post I will post in a couple mintutes, something like DC CFL?
