CFL ballasts, 24 volt

I worked as a slot technician for a casino for the last 6 years. One of the items that was a common fix due to techs not installing it right were 24 volt CFL ballasts. They were sperate from the tube and many used standard f15 tubes in twist sockets. Not sure if they can be found outside the casino industry but they were only about $20 each at the time. They were pretty indestructible unless installed with the power on or a wrong tube was used in the socket and overloaded them. One source is http://www.happcontrols.com/gaming/gaming_parts/70063500.htm they also carry the repair parts kits for the common failures. Heat and abuse were what killed most of the ones I worked on. They do need to be mounted on a flat metal plate to get them to start.
