Kiwi On Board - newbie
« on: April 29, 2007, 04:40:28 AM »
Hello there folks

I thought I'd drop a Hello I'm new note and sound out folks. I'm located in Auckland New Zealand and am interested in offsetting my power bill.

I've seen posts about wind power being used to power up smaller appliances - and I'm thinking if I could set something up to power my TV - that'd be a start :)

I've been reading http://www.mdpub.com/Wind_Turbine/index.html and it sounds do able.

I've also seen the post here about the charge controller

BUT I've no experience with ANY of this, and it's been a long time (about 20 years) since I last tinkered with relays, resisters etc.  I'm keen to hang out here and see what I can learn

Any advice for purchasing equipment in New Zealand (Yeap I'm hitting up www.trademe.co.nz already) ... and I'm wanting to run multiple inputs (solar/wind) into the batteries ... so yeah all advice much appreciated

cheers all
