I went to post about Tankless water heaters, (look in heat) and it put it into remote living and heat, but the post never went to the main page?? What happened? had to look for it, and accidently posted the post twice..

Yeah, and last week we lost an entire weeks worth of stories comments etc everything posted that week. Supposedly it was fixed but i never found back my stuff and whatever happened deleted my .sig to boot.

Some of the section subsections go section only by default.

But more to the point why do you think all stories should go FP? Maybe they turned on voting and didn't tell anyone? Been weeks since that was going to be implemented so who knows?

Conspiracy I say.

I just posted a reply to Ifred and it was hard for me to do as it changed some of my wtiting on tankless water heater.

1st posting so I am a newbie at this. Always lurking here. Best Board I have seen, Great format and easy to use except for postings and pix that extend beyond the right side.

I have posted stories in the heating section also, and they don't appear on the FrontPage. I don't think the "Heat" area is set to appear on the FrontPage. It would be helpfull to me to know which areas of the Board are Not set to appear on the FrontPage so I can browse those places separatly to get all of the boards content.

Ya I just saw the everything link myself recently, like yesterday or something.

I still want to know where all the other sections went that were here early this year. Bio fuels, hydrogen, ect..

Was some stuff I wanted to re-read in there and links I wanted to folow up on again.

Since I am working on building some of those type things it would be good to find them again.

Hi Fred -

we need to fix a couple things there - a few of our catagories dont seem to be setup to goto the front page. (there is no conspiracy... just a matter of DanF working it over a bit)

Regarding last week - I should've explained things on the board, but to be honest... we had enough server problems last Friday night that the board was the least of my worries! Basicly there were very high winds and long power outages in Ft Collins and our servers crashed. When they came back we were missing about 5 days worth of Data (not just the board.... but 5 days worth of everything). Most of the important stuff was put back on by hand from backups that were made the day before, but it was difficult to put everything back. so most messages were restored - some little changes (like TomW's signature and some picture files and a few other things that nobody here would ever notice) did not get restored.

Regarding Voting - we will be trying that soon! Like many things in life... there are too many things on the list that Im planning to do tomorrow and some of them keep getting pushed back. Installing voting will be quite easy, but I feel like well want to have the time to pay close attention to it for a few days, there are lots of different ways we can set it all up and I suspect as soon as we do there will be lots of feedback from users... both good and bad. At this time were too busy with other projects to deal with that. very soon though ;-)

OK.. looks like I fixed that problem about stuff in remote living not going to the front page, but I dont seem to be able to make the change to the stories you allready posted. (sorry about that...) - even resetting thetime stamp doesnt seem to do it. But in the future it shouldn't be a problem.

I think now I understand why my question about magnet wire never got reposted.

I made my post late on thursdy night, it was likely never on the backup.

Is it ok for me to repost?

I don't want to be a problem if my post was left out intentionaly for some reason.

Admin guys, you could do us all a favor and change to a user-friendly forum that will permit users to edit their own postings, and has "automatic buttons" for images, quotes, etc.

If I understand the "voting" procedure, what other people might think of a post would determine whether I get to see it or not?
