How Can You Tell The Difference?
« on: July 20, 2005, 05:11:19 AM »
I got a bunch of batteries.  Some with dead cells, which are going away and some which can be salvaged.  The problem is that I don't know which are deep cycle (because the person that I bought these from said there were a few included) and which are standard car batts.  How do I tell the difference?

Thanks,

Charlane

Deep cycle batteries say "Deep Cycle" on them. They also will have an amp hour rating on them.

Deep cycles will often have provisions for 'bolt on' terminals. So, if you see a square  tab with a hole in it or a lead post with a threaded rod coming out of it you might have a deep cycle battery. Go to Sam's Club and spend ten minutes looking around. They sell all types.
