supercapacitor or capacitor?
« on: December 27, 2005, 02:01:03 AM »
Hi!

Can anyone please help me with a battery problem? The battery life of our data logger is significantly less than it should be and i think it may be because it is idle most of the time with a few peak current power draws which is reducing battery life.

I read supercapacitors could be used to supply the current for these short duration peaks though i have no idea how expensive supercapacitors are or where to get them from (in Australia?). Could normal capacitors be used for a similar purpose to extend battery life?

any help would be greatly appreciated..

thankyou and merry xmas!

Gee, you might want to resubmit this with a bit more information. As it is we can't really offer much help.

What is the voltage the logger uses?

Model of logger?

Please resubmit with more info. Comments disabled so you can retry with some detail to enable us to help intelligently. Also, it was in the wrong section.
