Single phase geared motor for turbine
« on: July 24, 2005, 04:06:06 PM »
I was looking at a motor that I'm not sure it would be good or not for a wind generator. It is a Mitsubishi Electric type gm-efs-fx 4 pole cont 0.3 Kw single phase ins class. It also says 100 volt, 50/60 Hz, 5.1/4.6 amp, 230/278 rpm, condenser 125/30 uf, temp ris 60 deg, amb. Temp 50 deg. C. It appears to be geared. I thought the low rpm looked interesting.

I've made a few small turbines before using stepper motors. I thought I would try it again with a larger motor and spotted this one. Is this a good choice? What would need to be done to this to make it work. I have not purchased it yet and will wait to see if I can actually use it. Thanks all!
