This blades will not stand as composites, some use in Sweden this kind of blades up to 5 meters. Did you see the "Flying platform" he claims its new, I saw articles of them  during the Korean War, as kid I was feeling it was real cool. Pentagon suspended it as hardly possible, due to many reasons, including discomfort standing in the intake of air.

I would  ask if anybody has tried using helicopter rotor blades as a VAWT wind turbine?
