Well, without crunching the numbers, an area with an 11mph average wind will likely produce less than 350 watts or so with a 6 foot turbine, that will hardly power your house most of the time. Still it is a start. Size matters.
The most interesting part of the article for me was the tests in Chicago, where I am at, and the possible implementation of a permit process for rooftop turbines. I hadn't heard that. I won't hold my breath, however, as there maybe more hurdles than at a track meet. Rich
