Zubbly Question
« on: August 14, 2007, 04:36:38 PM »
Zubbly, I have been busy cleaning up my basement which flooded, so the wind generator was on hold.  Today I spent sometime on the generator and was able to find the "Y" connection and traced which wires were 7,8,and 9.  The connection seems to be a crimp connection and not soldered. The wire is copper colored but appears to be aluminum after scraping away the outer coating.  The coil spans appear to be the 8-10-12 set up.  To add the addittional leads can I use crimp connectors with heat shrink tubing over it?  Do the new leads need to be aluminum wire or can I use copper?  Do I need to re-lace and re-varnish the wires?

Thank you,

Otto

Otto: why not continue this in the original story over here:HERE

Seems very inefficient to spread this over multiple posts.

For brevity, I am locking comments on this to encourage you to continue it there.
