ANTI MAGNETIC MATERIALS
« on: May 19, 2010, 11:23:58 AM »
Is there an antimagnetic material that is thin and block all magnetic flux fields?

In a word "NO".

You can deflect it in a permeable material but you cannot effectively "block" it like you are asking.

What would the material be and how would it deflect

Superconductors.
Specifically, the Meissner effect.

CAN THESE MATERIALS BE SHAPED IN A CIRCULAR FLAT SHUTTER DESIGN?

uh... Why?

Which materials?

Mu-metal is the opposite of what you asked, but could create the same effect in a magnetic system.  Advantage being room temp.

That <20K factor in most superconductors don't make them very practical outside of a lab.

I WISH TO TAKE A RING OF MAGNETS ONE ABOVE THE OTHER OFFSET THE POLARITY SO THAT THE TOP AND BOTTOM RINGS ARE NOT N-S UP AND DOWN BUT ARE SLIGHTLY ANGELED TO REPEL EACH OTHER THEN BETWEEN THE UPPER AND LOWER RING OF MAGNETS I WANT TO PUT THIS ANTIMAGNETIC MATERIAL IN A SHUTTER TYPE DESIGN TO IN EFFECT SHUT OFF THE MAGNETIC FIELDS FROM EACH OTHER AND CAUSE A ROTATING EFFECT BETWEEN THE UPPER RING OF MAGNETS AND THE STATIONARY LOWWER RING

OFFSET THE POLARITY SO THAT THE TOP AND BOTTOM RINGS ARE NOT N-S UP AND DOWN BUT ARE SLIGHTLY ANGELED TO REPEL EACH OTHER

TO IN EFFECT SHUT OFF THE MAGNETIC FIELDS FROM EACH OTHER

You can not have both.
You have a magnetic field, or you do not.

Pretty sure what you are proposing would hit the spot where the flux travels between poles easiest, and just sit there.

The only people who will tell you it works are the OU people, who post wonderful videos, but no relevant information.
This is probably closer to that kind of thing,

Posting in all capitals is considered yelling, and is generally considered impolite.
