6volt Hawker telecom batteries
« on: August 29, 2010, 05:00:12 AM »
hi all, having just resumed my job as a crane driver in a recycling firm, and having the chance sometimes to check the numerous battery crates that come in, i quite often come across large amounts of the same battery which presumbly is a bank of em being replaced, so i recently aquired 8 of these hawker 6volt 155 powersafe batts that had a 02 sticker on them, i looked them up on the internet and they are calcium lead, and are used in the telecomunication industry, my question is if anyone would be so kind to answer is would these be ok to use in my micro generation system which previously i used 10 or so deep cycle FLA batts which are now nearly 4 years old and have been in constant use so have semi retired them, i take it that its not a good idea to mix types of batts so would these be ok to use on there own wired in series to give 12v then all in parallel to increase amps, would these batts take the constant discharge and charge cycles also, thanks
