Lots of fun workshops coming up!

(1/1)

DanB:
There are a few fun events coming up I thought I should post here.

This coming weekend is the sustainable living fair in Fort Collins Colorado.  It's a good sized fair, it reminds me a bit of the MREA fair in Wisconsin, not quite as big... but close!  We do a fun 2 day workshop there.  If anyone is close enough and has the time to either attend the fair, it's loads of fun.  During our workshop we build a 10' diameter wind turbine and we donate it to the silent auction.  Somebody usually gets a bargain on a wind turbine.

Hugh Piggott is going to be back in the states for a bit to teach 3 workshops for SEI (Solar Energy International).

Wind Electric Systems, maintenance and repair:  http://www.solarenergy.org/workshop/wind-electric-systems-maintenance-and-repair
Homebuilt Wind Generators:  http://www.solarenergy.org/workshop/homebuilt-wind-generators
I plan to be at Homebuilt Wind Generators to help and learn any way I can - it's a lot of fun, a rare treat to learn from Hugh.. and it's in a beautiful place on Guemes Island, just north of Anacortes Washington.

Lastly - Sunrise Ranch asked us to teach a workshop in the last week of this month, here in Colorado.  Due to low registration (We did not make the minimum by August 30) it's been cancelled.  We had 4 folks signed up I guess.  So I've offered to do that workshop here for the folks who did sign up and it looks as though they are all coming.  We could probably have a couple more (maybe 2) - it'd be last week of this month, Sunday through Friday.   If  that interests anybody, drop me a note and I can fill you in.

Busy month coming up - should be fun!

Dan;
Not to drift the topic but.

I hope the fire near Loveland is well away from you guys, friends and family, etc.

Tom

DanB:
Thanks Tom.  It's a good 10 miles away and mostly contained...
quite dry and dangerous around here though with regard to fires.
