Connecting a boiler to a solar hot water
« on: September 22, 2010, 10:14:13 AM »
OK what im wondering is would it make much since to hook my boiler up to my 400 galloon reservoir  that is hook up to my solar drain back system for days when the sun is hiding so I can to keep the temp up . I plan on using this sytem for space heating also Right now I use electric hot water and a pellet stove for my heating needs the boiler been off for about 2.5 years , so if it would be efficent to use the old base board sytem that use to circulate hot water throw the baseboards and have it circulate throw the tank of 400 gallons of water . What my overall plan is to put a heat exchanger in my central air unit and pump water throw that to achieve worced hot air to help with the pellet stove demand it a new harmand p61a that works well but I still spend about 1,000 a year to heat my house with it 2,000 square feet . Thanks Jarrod
