The slide yaw bearing of reply #810  I would like to change to a double row ball bearing.
2 outer raceways turned / grinded in the hub.

Few years ago I made a yaw drive  prototype.
Chain sprockets , Worm reduction , Cordless drill-motor.
Never used it in real situation .
Very content with the active pitchcontrol system.

I am quite good at working with metal ,but making a slew-bearing I am too young for it.

Found these pinions ( 3 Euro ) Now I need to shape an appropriate sprocket on the yaw bearing.

Thinking another and easier method might be to make the yaw bearing from composite material.

Or 3D printing.

Are you placing the coils on each side...two separate stators ?  Looks great...!

I thought at 1 stator, with a steel lamination in the coils, between 2 magnet rings.

Try it both ways..without Steel in the coil holes...then other...might have a bit of cogging..with the steel in the coils...might see a few extra volts with the steel..cogging might take that advantage away..?   Tried it once on a single phase alt..few years back....took a pipe wrench just to spin it around...on my 20-15   Three phase excersize bike alt..with steel in the coils..I can spin that with one finger....it's all in the design...good luck..

2 coils of 14 m wire / 10 layers. With inserted lamination core.

I wonder if it makes sense to add laminations in the space between the coils.

Do a simple test...mount the coil..then run your mags by it...with and without lams..helped out on my pedgen...small amount of cogging..still able to spin with one finger...my coils are mounted to a steel band as well...the coils are fairly thick..so having the metal in the coil hole..helped to magnatize the entire coil...

Seeing the coils in the mould I think I'd better take another ratio of more and smaller coils and lam.core.

Using iron coil cores will certainly increase the strength of the magnetic flux flowing through the coils as the air gap becomes much smaller. Therefore the voltage generated at a certain rotational speed will be much higher. However, iron cores may cause strong fluctuation of the clogging torque depending on the number of armature poles and stator coils. This fluctuation is maximal if the number of armature poles is equal to the number of stator coils. This fluctuation can be minimised if the number of armature poles is two more or two less than the number of stator coils but this requires a special winding (see public reports KD 560, KD 580 or KD 632).

The distance between the magnetrings I now can vary up till 34 mm.
Each ring 30 magnets 10 x 5 (thickness 4 mm.)?
