direct drive generator as dc motor

(1/1)

vawtwindy:
sometime back while watching one of this forum link(possibly from youtube), i found a member prepared his generator, later for fun he connected it dc supply, and it was working like a motor(sensorless), can any one pls share that link? info?

SparWeb:
I didn't see the link - can't help you there.
As long as the motor has brushes, then it can operate either as a motor or generator with no modification at all.  That's a simplification, it's true, because it ignores the practicalities of what power source will drive it as a generator, the diode needed to prevent the generator from acting like a motor when it isn't being driven, the appropriate speed, and so on.  But very basically there's no more to it.

vawtwindy:
Well, almost after a year i started accessing the computer, and hobby projects,

Thanks dear SparWeb, If you dont mind, can i continue this thread?

SparWeb:
Hello,
Welcome back.
These threads are never "closed" on this forum, so yeah, pick up where you left off if you like.

How are these hobby projects going so far?

vawtwindy:
