Dynasty AGM battery, UPS-300MR?
« on: February 21, 2015, 02:15:27 PM »
I haven't researched batteries yet but just stumbled on a couple slightly used Dynasty UPS-300MR. Would these be a good choice?  I'm not yet familiar with the pros and cons of this battery type.

Poor choice for deep cycle use. They are designed for standby service.

The specs say "new" up to 300 cycles at 100% DOD. I would say it depends on the price. "Used" sounds like a warning on any battery unless the price is real good. People don't get rid of usable stuff without a reason. They probably failed a test somewhere. Depends on what you can afford and what you want to do with them.
If they are local, you won't be paying to ship them.

Hi

I don't know the price of batteries in the US but in the UK an 85Ah marine grade VRLA deep cycle battery is around £80, and a 90-95Ah AGM around £90 so if that is a second hand battery then it sounds expensive for an unknown quantity health wise.
