20-15 bike alt
« on: November 15, 2015, 04:34:26 PM »
rewired coils -2 in hand  #17 wire and some field coil wire -close to  #17... puts out more power -but at a cost of more drag...have to fight all that extra wire....
works great as a exersize bike...but i could have built a more effiant wind gen with all that wire !   really loads up with a 100 watt load..the cost you have to pay  for building a low rpm gen....still a blast to work out on...might add a 12v. auto radio to it..just for funnn............heres a short going out the door vid...if it works ?

I just checked too, it still says private.
Maybe post a different link?
The current link may just be a non-updated setting

Thanks

If I build another...ile mount the mags and coils sideways..should get more power output..with the mags crossing over the coils leg..than over the coils ends....or just rebuild the currant one....never ends...........😜

I was digging the background music!!

How well does the Auto-12V fan hold up ?
I've begun to horde the swing meters, I like that they give me an instant feed back for Amps.
Cheers

fan works great --the fan can handle over 20+v...the belt driven gens put out way more power than this setup..but i think it looks kinda cool...grandkids have a blast on it...they like the big sparks it throws out..when you short or drag the output wires togeather...does give you kinda of a jolt when your touching both wires..so i have to keep  a close watch on them....i toss one on the back of my motorhome..saved me a few times..about 5 to 8 min. of charging gives me enough power to start....i was kinda surprized it didnt cog more than what it does..with steel flat bar in the coil holes--mounted to a steel ring...spins right around with ease..when theirs no load...     as a hobby its been fun and agravating at times.................................
