That's a beast.  I've never had much interest in vertical axis, mostly because the trees are 70' (21') or more here, but I admire your ambition.

I wonder, as Janne asked, if the rotor is hard to rotate form a stopped position due to the iron cores?

Best, ~ks

I have made the 8 horizontal wind turbine
It was a problem in all
tail blades bearing excessive rpm
I think the best vertical turbine
advantages
small tower height
No top weight
In altarnat ground
no tail
No excessive rpm
No slipring
powerful torque
No excessive resonance
There are more advantages

NICE! I like the idea of using water based glue.
Keep us up on how it goes.
What are you using for cutting? CNC or chainsaw?
Kind regards

I wonder if laminating a piece of hardwood in there on edge instead of flat to act as a spar would help with stiffness?

That airfoil profile looks like a regular fixed wing from the end. On a fixed wing, the idea is to create lift. When a blade spins on a mill, the air moving backwards needs that lift to keep moving. What are the forces the mill puts on the tower from this lift?

The lift from this design is mostly at the edges, unlike a fixed wing, as the edge moves faster. What effect does that have on blade twisting and flexing?

So much work doing it in wood.  You could get perfect consistency with much less work using extruding techniques.

My hat is off to your hard work.  You definitely are doing fine wood work

Atasan,
Very impressive work so far.
Supporting this blade, which has an appreciable mass, requires a combined truss support.  You have shown truss structure in two arms (which is good) but you will also need a cross-brace between the two arms.  I recommend attaching the cross-brace from the bottom of the wing to the top of the hub.  This will put the cross-brace in tension.  That will be more effective than having a cross-brace in compression, because if it buckles slightly, it could collapse completely if it's under compression.  Spreading the hub attachments of the two arms will also increase the stiffness of the whole system immensely.

Make sure to compute the radial forces on the hub before selecting a material for the arms.

I built a VAWT many years ago - 2 meter blades and 2 meter diameter.  Its speed was limited by vibration.  It had many modes of vibration, too.  The fatal one was what I would call "whirl", where the top of the mast traces a big circle in the sky.  I gave up when my attempts to correct the whirl imbalance caused more blade pitch imbalance.
No one believes the theory except the one who developed it. Everyone believes the experiment except the one who ran it.

Uh oh, I hope I haven't misled you.  This is what I meant:

Cross-bracing between the arms is the only effective way of transferring the weight of the blades to the tower.
Extending the tower upward as you were showing above made it possible for the vibration to give the blades a kid of "walking" motion.

atasan, I crown you this month's poster child for persistence and determination.   You have done what I set out to do but gave up once I realized the tremendous amount of work involved.

I hope you have enough wind to spin that thing.

And sparweb speaks truth when it comes to the diagonals.

Pick your bearings then buy two sizes larger.

Mary has a good thought about the central spar.  In fact, with that well-crafted spar, you could use styrofoam cut by hotwire to create the airfoil front and back and shed 2/3 of the weight, cover like an airplane wing.  Might consider that approach if the wood proves to be too much mass.

You could also ..cup..the the flat side of the blades...not the mounting area..

I did example 1 with 6 meter diameter rotor blade length of 3 meters, 50 cm width mail 5 m / s results for the wind like this (I wore concave blades, ie looking at parts of the central bulge)
TSR 2 for 33 r.p.m.  Torgue 220 Nm
TSR 3 for 48 r.p.m.  Torgue 340 Nm
TSR 4 for 63 r.p.m.  Torgue 260Nm
TSR 5 for 79 r.p.pm.  Torgue 285 Nm
If you look outside the center part of the Bomber torque too bad it turns out, nearly a 20% loss and speed does not change.
I apologize for grammar and spelling
