Telescopic boom from crane or lift for mast
« on: May 16, 2016, 07:25:22 AM »
Quite often old aerial lifts with telescopic booms come up for sale cheap. The site I am looking at setting up a wind turbine is at the top of a ridge with limited scope for guy lines or even being able to lay out a tilt up tower. I have plenty of gear with hydraulic outputs so power it isnt going to be an issue.

I have done alot of searching but so far havent been able to find anything in relation to this, so im guessing im missing something obvious?

the thought had occurred to me a few times . if you could get a good price on one, i can't think of a reason why not.  most of those things are rented out or leased . i think they have a certain number of hrs. of usage before a rebuild is necessary in order for them to be rented out . please keep us informed.

Yeah I think the inspection period ends on the older ones and its to much cost to have them overhauled to pass the next, I think those lifts used around electrical assets have to be tested yearly.
Will definitely let you know what I find
