A (small) Milesone
« on: October 23, 2016, 02:01:55 AM »
After 2 years since I reconnected my (old) solar panels back into my system, I came home to see this on my charge controller:

A bit like seeing the odometer click over the first 100K on your car...

In this case it represents 10,000 Amp-hours -> 260 kWhr -> offsets less than one month of my consumption.

Oh yes indeedy!

Trying to boost my winter (off-grid) generation:

is proving harder than expected, even with some careful calcs and generous over-engineering.

Even required some 'percussive maintenance' of a relay last night (cue replacement soon):

Even if I get all I aimed for from it, I may get ~200kWh/y, which is a little over 10% of our gross electricity consumption.

How could you resist pressing the AH reset button every day?

when I sold my off grid house this year, there was over 44 MWH on the KWH meter I installed at the commission of the system in 2004

dbcollen:  winner hands-down!

A few months ago, I picked up some surplus polycrystalline panels for less than 1$/Watt so maybe I'll cross the 20k milestone in less than 2 years from now.
