Jacobs at Work

Finally have this Jake 2.5 about how I want it. Have to put on the nose cone, but essentially complete and in operation. Connected with a 24 VDC battery bank, with diversion at 28 VDC. Resistance heat elements are showing over 250 DEG F, per picture. A little humming from one heat resister, not sure why, but otherwise working fine. The old control box is just for show.

Could the humming resistor just be a bit loose in its clip? 
The wire-wound resistors I have are held with spring clips in the ends.  If they don't hold the resistor tightly it can make noise.
The charge controller (I see a Tri-Star in your picture) sends PWM pulses into the resistors so they have a on/off cycle that can become vibration.

"...diversion at 28 VDC"...  Exactly 28V?  I think those Trojans can handle a higher diversion voltage than that.
The Tri-Star has 2-stage charging so maybe you're referring to the float voltage instead of bulk.
