Hi

I replaced the batteries on a trawler type motoryacht using 32V a few months back. Four 8V batteries in series. We had to special order them. I tried recommending converting to 24V.

36V is not that common but definitely used.  Trace built some SW inverters for 36V, I know that African Windpower built 36V machines, and I expect the C40 charge controller works fine for 36V.  Not common  -  but definitely in use.

After over 200 votes the results are approximately
  1. % - 12 volt
  2. % - 24 volt
  3. % - 48 volt
  4. % - Higher voltage
  5. % - Planning a system
  6. % - No system at all

I'm all 12V here, with the exception of a 24V UPS. The UPS has a couple car batteries connected to it,since the original SLA's were long dead. So far it seems to work great, and I've maxxed out the UPS's runtime meter "99:00"minutes!
